President’s Message

Honoring Our Fallen Heroes

Memorial Day, May 26th is our federal holiday, dedicated to honoring, remembering, and mourning the U.S.  military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
This is a day to show our patriotism by visiting cemeteries and ceremony memorials across the county, including the annual Memorial Day service at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.  This celebration at 10:00 a.m. is one of San Diego’s largest and most celebrated memorials dedicated to our fighting men and women.  For more information please see http://www.fortrosecransmemorialday.com.  

Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial https://soledadmemorial.org will honor military personnel and feature speeches, music and wreath-laying ceremony on the 26th. There will also be volunteers placing American flags on the graves of those military personnel in national cemetery.

The USS Midway Museum May 24-26 is offering a series of events designed for everyone to experience the spirit of honor, remembrance, and celebration. For more information visit https://www.midway.org/event/legacy-week-2025.

More than ever we need to remind our citizens of the sacrifices that were made to be the "Home of the free, because of the brave," and "Freedom isn't free," which emphasize the importance of honoring military service members. Check out the ceremonies offered in your area in addition to the above.
